Wahkiakum Wild Bird Fest is a one-of-a-kind birding event created by a partnership of community organizations to showcase the remarkable abundance and diversity of birds that winter along the Columbia River Estuary and Julia Butler Hansen Refuge for the Columbian White-tailed Deer.

Wahkiakum Wild Bird Fest is hosted by the Willapa Hills Audubon Society. It brings bird lovers, nature enthusiasts, and curious explorers to Wahkiakum County, Washington during a weekend in February, to experience the region’s abundant waterfowl.

Centered in charming Cathlamet, visitors will have ample opportunity to explore this historic and friendly town. Timed to coincide with peak numbers of ducks, geese, and swans, the festival offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the region’s beautiful landscapes and discover the birds that call them home.

With spring migrants beginning to arrive, there is even more to see—from waterfowl and shorebirds to songbirds.
